The Toyota Yaris Facelift model has made its debut at the Bologna Motor Show. The model will be launched in Europe during the early stages of 2009.
Toyota’s Yaris Facelift features a few minor styling updates on the outside, such as new front and rear bumpers which gain protective plastic mouldings, revised headlights and tail lamps. There is also a new, narrower front grille.
Toyota have changed the inside by adding new upholstery and trim options.
The biggest change is under the hood, as the new 2009 Yaris will feature a new 1.33-litre Dual VVT-i 4-cylinder petrol engine which was first introduced in the Auris. The new engine is promised to deliver lower emissions, better fuel economy and improved power and torque figures, when compared to the old 1.4-litre engine which it replaces.
The 1.33-litre Dual VVT-i engine pushes out 101-hp and 132-Nm of torque, it is connected to a 6-speed manual gearbox or an optional semi-automatic MMT transmission. Toyota have claimed that the manual version will get 5.1-litres per 100km.
The Yaris facelift will also be available, for the first time, with Toyota’s new Stop&Start technology. Toyota says that the system has a permanently engaged start gear mechanism which will keep the starter motor in direct contact with the ring gear on the engine, and as a result, the engine will start and stop faster and more quietly.

Here we are in 2009 and I am eager to hear about the Toyota Yaris Facelift event. It already sounds like an amazing car, I don't need more proof of that.
The Yaris' design has really improved, compared to the old model, its been remodeled inside and out… I will be looking forward to see this one in the streets someday…
Another great sequel from Yaris and Toyota.
This is a better Yaris model. Great job on face lifting the old Yaris. People will love it.
