The latest spy images from AutoExpress show us that the new McLaren, codenamed the P11, supercar is almost ready for the showroom. The P11 was caught undergoing some winter testing in Sweden, and the model is pretty much in the final stages of development.
The project will be unveiled later this year, and it will follow in the footsteps of the original McLaren F1 roadcar, and it will also replace the McLaren-Mercedes SLR model.
McLaren’s new P11 supercar will rival the Ferrari F430 and Lamborghini Gallardo with a price tag starting from £150,000. The P11 prototype caught in the images is a bit different to the original model which will be released.
Although the front of the car is camouflaged, we can still see the distinctive profile of the car. The P11 will be a mid-engined beast and it will use an AMG-sourced 550-bhp 6.2-litre V8 with a semi-automatic paddleshift gearbox.
Lightweight body panels will ensure that the weight is kept down so that it can produce awesome performance.
Sales will start around 2010.

I can't wait to see this supercar. I hope they put it in a race track and let somebody test drive it.
