Alfa Romeo have been hard at work on their new Berlina Da Corsa, which is a design exercise which reveals a new sprots sedan that will be at home on both, the road and the track. The new design was created by Seongjun Ko, which is a Transportation Design graduate from Hongik University in South Korea.
The Berlina Da Corsa pretty much means, Racing Sedan in Italian, and it will feature a load of styling from classic Alfa models such as the GT 1300 Junior and the 1750 GTV. However, we feel that it features a some styling from the new Chevrolet Camaro in the front as well.
So what makes this design special, you might ask. Well, the roof is a unique system which employs a stretchable metal which will alloy wires to change the shape as a current passes through it. The concept study is similar to BMW’s GINA Concept which was revealed last year.
By changing the roof, the new design concept will be able to be lowered for the track, and then raised for the road.
Might take a few years before something like this is even considered, as there are quite a few problems.
… No back window
… No space for passengers at the back (meant to be a sedan, eh?)
What do you think?
