More Details On The Honda MUGEN Civic Type-R Concept

Honda has officially confirmed the development of their new Civic Type R ‘MUGEN’ concept which will be a highly-tuned road car. At the moment the Mugen concept has no plans for production, but it is still however being prepared as a prototype.

The Honda Type R Mugen is probably built close to production specs, which means that if it receives enough love.. It will be built!

The new three-door will be developed in Japan by MUGEN EURO, which is an official Honda tuning arm. The car will then be brought to the UK for further testing.

The Civic Type R MUGEN will have a 240-horsepower 2.0-litre Type-R engine. The Japanese firm will then add a new brake system, a new exhaust and it will house a more aggressive stance thanks to a new aerodynamic package that features a rear wing.

“In standard trim, the Civic Type R is a thrilling machine to drive,” said Hiro Toyoda, Vice President of MUGEN EURO in a prepared statement. “It is a fantastic base model from which we hope to develop one of the quickest point to point front-wheel-drive road cars in the country.”
