Thats a lot of money for a car the size of a shoe. FIAT woulnt be able to sell that car for that much here in the US unless they classify themselves as a Near Luxury make like MINI.

  2. HyundaiSmoke says:

You can get a SUV in the US for this price. You guys in the UK like to spend that much on such a tiny car?

  3. HyundaiSmoke says:

FIAT in its current form wouldnt be able to sell this car here in the US for much more than the equivalent of 6,000 pounds. FIAT has too much of a bad reputation for people to risk a lot of money on this car.

I guess that is what changes the model in the UK. Fiat has quite a good reputation, and of course this is the convertible. :-)

Lets hope Fiat know what they are doing because they currently have some investments in Chrysler now too… Would be a shame to see everyone go bankrupt :P

  5. HyundaiSmoke says:

If FIAT has such a good reputation, then why is the FIAT Grande Punto the least reliable subcompact in Europe According to JD Power Europe?

  6. HyundaiSmoke says:

Ive done research on FIAT and I think its a bad deal for Chrysler. Especially the Alfa Romeo portion of the deal. People here in the US act as this will be the Panacea for Chrysler. I dont think so. I think they would have been better of with a Korean or Japanese buyer, as Korean and Japanese cars destined for the US are of the highest quality, while European cars destined for the US are overpriced and highly unreliable.

  7. HyundaiSmoke says:

Some of the Euro Cars destined to the US are rubbish. Iam glad I bought the Korean built Hyundai Accent over the Mexican built Renault Clio (Ooops, Nissan Versa).

However, The Korean Cars built in Europe are of a lower quality than those built in Korea it seems. Just like the American cars built in Europe are of superior quality to what the Americans bribe their compatriots in buying.

  8. Dean says:

Wow! Overall it seems like automakers are trying to impress other markets and neglect their own.. In a way.

I agree that Japanese cars are built with superior quality. FIAT has a good reputation for their various brands is what I meant.. I didn’t mean to say everything of theirs is quality :)

At the moment I really think that Hyundai is taking over many companies. Lately I have been really, really impressed with their work.

For the record I didn’t mean to step on your toes with anything I said, I would just like to see all the companies doing well for some competition. It’s always sad to see companies go down. :)

Perhaps people would just like to see the Alfa brand in the US and that is why they are excited? OR they know something we don’t :P

I feel that their partnership is not so bad as it allows for more import/export, but hey, I guess we’ll have to see, I might be wrong :(

Nice research by the way!! :)
