Many automakers are trying their utmost best to move into the Chinese market, because, it seems like this is the only market actually going strong. Audi has now announced that they will unveil their new plant in China during the September month. The plant will allow the German automaker to double their output to 200,000 units per year.

It has been confirmed that the new Chinese plant will produce the Q5 and A4L (Long-wheel-base) models. The A4L is a very popular market in China, as many of the businessmen preferred to be driven around.

Audi has invested $146.3 million into the plant, where their Chinese-partners, FAW Group also covered some of the costs.

Along with the new factory comes the news that Audi would like to create more dealerships to buy their cars, as their Chinese sales are up by more than 28% for June when compared to the same period last year.

“This sales record shows us that we’ve made the right choices for the Chinese market, and that our model strategy is matched to the tastes of the Chinese customer,” said Peter Schwarzenbauer, Member of the Board of Management for Marketing and Sales at Audi AG.
