BMW has released a new set of images regarding the 320d EfficientDynamics model which will take stage at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The new 320d ED will boast good fuel consumption set at only 4.1-litres per 100km.
The engine found in new diesel will be a 2.0-litre four-cylinder unit with an all-aluminium crankcase. BMW will achieve these fuel figures as they will equip the new model with a turbocharger that uses a new variable intake geometry and also common-rail direct-fuel injection.
Power on the BMW 320d will be set at 163-horsepower, with 360Nm of torque. BMW are aiming to have this model as their most fuel efficient model in the range – without compromising power.. Of course.
Features on the new 3-Series will include a lower chassis and suspension, along with a Start-Stop system.
“In the fiercely contested midrange segment it is an unparalleled, highly attractive premium offer for the truly demanding and progressive customer focusing primarily on superior economy and the environment, without wishing to forego the sporting driving characteristics so typical of a genuine BMW,” the manufacturer said in a release.
Pricing will be set around the current price tag of the 320d.
“The improvement of efficiency offered by this innovative technology does not even require the payment of a higher price for the BMW 320d EfficientDynamics Edition,” BMW added.
