The latest General Motors media party was used to announce the news about a couple of new Cadillac’s. It was said that Caddy will release a new XTS and ATS model, where the ATS will be smaller than the both the XTS and CTS models, and it was said that it will directly rival the BMW 3-Series model.
Caddy’s ATS was said to feature a sloping roof-line similar to that found on the CTS Coupe, it then housed a front design which featured an evolved Cadillac look with headlights which stretched across the fender lines. The platform for the new 3-Series rival was not announced, but it was confirmed that there will be both a rear, and all-wheel-drive layout available.
The XTS on the other hand is a huge model which will carry a design very similar to that of the Sixteen concept (pictured right). The XTS will be a bit shorter than the Sixteen concept, as the engine range will not be the same. We won’t see the V16 unit.
It’s expected that while the ATS will use four and six-cylinder engines, we may see the XTS with a small block V8 unit.
All in all there is no word on when we will see these models, but it was announced that they are coming soon.
