The Devon GTX – an American based supercar which is scheduled for sale during the first quarter of 2010. The Devon GTX was said to be, “the most powerful naturally aspirated production powertrain system on the market today.”

The American racer uses a 8.4-litre V10 engine with 484kW (650-horsepower) and a six-speed manual transmission unit to send power to the road.

“It was not a specific goal to set track records at that stage of validation, but the car outperformed even our aggressive goals,” said Devon Motorworks validation and testing leader Justin Bell, a former 24 Hours of Le Mans champion, in a statement for the press. “We are looking forward to additional testing, where I’m certain the GTX will eclipse any time we’ve set to date.”

Devon’s GTX was built from aircraft quality carbon fibre where it will allow for an overall lightweight setup with a distinctive body that features chrome exhausts and minimal front and rear overhangs.

The inside features a carbon-fbire racing seat set, along with chrome pieces here and there.

Devon will only create 36 cars per year, and they will be priced at $500,000.
