Opel Releases All Of The Details On The 2010 Astra’s Engine Range

General Motors has confirmed the engine range for the brand new 2010 Opel Astra hatchback. The new hatch will go on sale during fall, where it will have a revised line up of eight diesel and petrol engines. The power on these units will range from 95 to 180-horsepower, where the new units will have a 12 percent fuel economy and CO2 emission increase.
The petrol engines will start with a pair of naturally aspirated units with a the 1.4-litre displacement model pushing out 100-hp, while the 1.6-litre unit will pump out 115-horsepower. The turbocharged petrol units will have a displacement of 1.4-litres with power set at 140-hp, and then a 1.6-litre displacement unit with power up to 180-horsepower.
The three diesel units will be a 1.7-litre CDTI with 110-hp and 125-hp while the 2.0-litre CDTI will pump out 160-horsepower. The last unit is an ecoFLEX unit with a 1.3-litre displacement and 95-horsepower. This model will use 4.2-litres of diesel per 100km.
Opel has said that the new diesel units’ combined fuel average is 4.6-litres per 100km, while the petrol units’ average will be set at 6.1-litres per 100km.
All of these engines will meet the Euro5 emissions, where they will be connected to six-speed manual gearboxes. There will be the option for automatic boxes as well.. Of course!
