Audi, in cooperation with Bang & Olufsen has released a new custom sound proposal for the new R8 Spyder model. The new system will allow for precision, and crystal clear sound when driving with the top on or off.

“With the powerful V10 engine the car has a top speed of more than 300 km/h and the Bang & Olufsen system was tested and tuned up to that,” Bang & Olufsen says.

The 12-speaker system will have 10 discrete channels of amplification and they will allow for a total of 465 watts. The design has also however been changed, as they will suit the interior of the drop-top even more.

”It is the dream job of almost every acoustic engineer in the automotive sector to work on such a supremely well balanced and executed sports car as the R8 Spyder in combination with the Bang & Olufsen Sound System,” said Daniel Garner, Acoustic Engineer at Bang & Olufsen Automotive.

Although the combination of a powerful engine and a cabriolet with its increased interior noise presented unique challenges, the result is excellent,” added Garner.
