Frankfurt 2009: BMW Vision EfficientDynamics Concept Unveiled

BMW has officially unveiled the brand new Vision EfficientDynamics concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show Preview event. The new BMW was unveiled by CEO Dr. Norbert Reithofer, where he commented on the companies proposal, as well as the future of the powertrain technology.
“The car needs to evolve through innovation,” said Reithofer . “We are the engine more efficient and make the total of vehicle technology more optimally. In addition, Hybrid is also for us a temporary solution. And especially for large metropolitan areas, a car is needed for electric base. We will continue our research work which hydrogen regard.”
BMW’s Vision concept is a really, really advanced technological powertrain which works in perfect harmony with the body construction, however it’s not a viable design or idea for the future. The Vision Concept is a 2+2 seater with a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged engine. There will be 262kW with 800Nm of torque sent to all four of the wheels through two electric motors on the front and rear axles.
The 0-100km/h time will be 4.8 seconds where the peak speed will be 250km/h. The fuel consumption is rated at 3.76litres per 100km, while the CO2 emissions are set at 99g/km.
