Porsche is apparently developing an electric vehicle which will enhance their sport car range. Ever since the Audi eTron and others were unveiled at the Frankfurt Show we’ve been hearing a lot about hybrid and/or electric powered vehicles.

The report regarding the electric sports car comes from Porsche CEO, Michael Macht who confirmed that the company is working ‘intensively’ on this operation.

Apparently a few years time will see a concept, while the production model is only around five to ten years away.

So far the news regarding this model doesn’t state whether or not it will be a 911, Boxster or Cayman. It could even be a new model, we don’t know. Previous reports from Porsche do state that they would like to double sales, and this means that a new model might not actually be a bad idea.

Guess we’ll have to see what the company has planned for the future, eh?
