Audi has said that China seems to be their ’second domestic market’. The German brand will soon raise their overall sales as they are planning to release the A3 in 2010.

First Automobile Works (FAW) seem to have the biggest chance of a Audi-partnership for the A3 production. The company did however decline on this report, where others have rumoured that the A3 will only be a done-deal if BMW move the 1-Series to the same market.

Audi are looking to sell around 200,000 cars in China by year 2015, which is a large total over the 79,390 cars sold in the first seven months of this year.

The Chinese market will benefit from a load of Audi A3 engines that start with a 1.4-litre engine and end in a 1.6-litre TDI diesel. There will be the 2.0-litre TFSI petrol units available as well.
