Lexus South Africa Asks Buyers To Avoid The Cost Of Extra Options

Lexus has released news which compares their RX450h hybrid model to the Audi Q7 and BMW X5 models. Lexus has said that the many customers judge a new car on its price alone, where they do not realise that they are missing out on a load of extras. Well, we’re thinking, are the buyers really missing out on a load of extras? Many people buy into brands because of good reviews from friends or family, as well as previous knowledge with the brand.

While pricing figures can definitely decide on which car you would want, it’s really up to how you feel about the brand and the car which you would drive for the next couple of years or so.

Lexus South Africa are aiming to expose their RX450h as premium SUV with top quality for a good, competitive price.

The Lexus RX450h LXE looks as if it is the most expensive car in the range, it is actually one of the cheapest. Now the reason why it comes across really expensive is because it has all of the features included, where companies as BMW and Audi don’t add optional extra’s to the price. Perhaps this is a marketing scheme which Lexus next caught on to, as many automakers do this to lure buyers.

Many buyers are lazy, and the cheaper-at-first-look price would definitely seem intriguing.

Either way, when buying a large SUV you want top quality and top performance. The Lexus RX450h costs R769 300 with everything included as standard. After R190 270 of additions, a similarly specced Audi Q7 would cost R818 270 and the BMW X5 would set you back R887 100 with R147 600 of extras.

Despite the increase in pricing, what seems more appealing? A cheaper Lexus, or the more expensive BMW X5? Well, most would say the X5 as “it costs more, it’s gotta be better,” or simply, it’s a BMW.

The South African market doesn’t exactly see Lexus as a top brand just yet, and by adding all of the extras into one price they might fend off ’stupid’ buyers with more cash then brains.
