Earlier this year Felipe Massa was involved in a serious accident when a piece of steel fractured his skull. The July accident occurred during the 2009 Hungarian GP practice where Massa was knocked out and crashed into the barriers.
The damage was significant as the Brazilian fractured his skull and damaged his face.
Reports have now said that Massa’s vision has had a full recovery and that he will get back into a F1 car during this week.
Massa underwent neurological and ophthalmological tests in Paris where Ferrari reported that, “The first outcomes are positive, especially the ophthalmological exam that confirmed Felipe has recovered the full functions of his left eye.”
Massa will test the 2007 race car at the Fiorano track in Italy. The driver is then expected to make his return at the Brazilian GP on the 18th of October.
