Last week we brought you a teaser of the Lamborghini SV and how it’s built, courtesy of the National Geographic Channel.
This time round we have some news on the Rolls Royce Phantom, which was the first model to be built under BMW ownership in 1998. Each Phantom is said to have a unique combination of state-of-the-art technology and old-world craftsmanship.
The manufacturing process starts in Germany with a strong, lightweight space frame chassis. Each space frame and body shell is then sent to another factory in Germany where it undergoes corrosion-resistant treatment as well as primer paint.
Next up comes the facility that builds the Phantom.
It takes an average of 450 hours to hand-built each car.
Check out the videos below, while the show will start on Thursday, October 8 at 8PM ET/PT on the National Geographic Channel.
Video “Rolls-Royce: Made to Order” – The options are limitless when customizing your very own Rolls-Royce.
Video “Custom Interior Craftsmanship” – The Phantom has 42 laminated wood parts – and each piece is a work of art.
