South Africa’s BMW Rosslyn Plant Will Soon Pump Out 87,000 Units Per Year

BMW has said that they will invest around 200 million euros (2,182,739,360.75 ZAR) in a new structural and technology center for the Rosslyn plant. The upgrades will allow for the 60,000 unit production to be increased all the way up to 87,000 units per year. Alongside the massive increase in production will come a total of 1,100 new jobs.
“This investment is a clear signal of commitment to the site of the BMW Group South Africa, and their confidence in the growth of this economic region. Especially in the current difficult global economic situation, we can fulfill our requirements of a sustainability-oriented corporate policy requirements. We create momentum for further development of the market, to secure employment and to strengthen the country’s South Africa,” said the Chairman of the Board of BMW AG, Norbert Reithofer in Munich.
South Africa has been representing the BMW brand for many years, and the Rosslyn plant was actually the first production facility outside of Germany.
