Toyota Are Planning A Coupe & MPV Prius Model

Honda are planning to shock the US market with their new CR-Z hatchback hybrid for 2010. The new model will be very, very sporty as it will include a new 6-speed manual transmission. The US specification Honda CR-Z will be the first hybrid to feature such a big gear box.

Autocar has said that Honda rivals, Toyota, are planning to build a Prius which will go head to head with the CR-Z model.

Toyota’s Prius coupe is expected to use a 1.8-litre 134-hp engine with the same platform as the current version. There should however be more weight saving techniques used, along with a more aerodynamic body.

Other reports say that the Prius coupe could also be joined by an MPV model.
