VW’s New Mid-Size Sedan Might Replace The Passat

Volkswagen might cancel the Passat line when they introduce the new 2011 new mid-sized sedan (NMS). The new sedan will be built in Tennessee where it will cost a bit less than the larger Passat model that is currently on sale.
VW insiders said that the sedans will not work together as the smaller Passat would cost more than the new NMS, and this would mean that no one would really be interested in buying it.
The VW CEO of America said that the company is looking into all options in detail, where they might find a way to keep both on the market, but we seriously doubt this.
Some people are expecting the new NMS to cost around $8,000 less than the Passat model that is currently on sale.
The lower pricing is due to the car being produced locally in America for the American market. This eliminates most import fees and taxes.
