2010 Citroen C5 To Boast New Engines With More Power

Citroen’s new C5 will enter the year 2010 with a new revised engine line up and equipment upgrades. The C5 is currently available in both sedan and estate variants where it will feature key improvements for the new few years.

Changes include a new BMW Group co-developed 1.6-litre 16V THP 155-hp petrol engine, and this will replace the 2.0-litre 143-hp unit. We will also see a new diesel engine in the form of a 2.0 HDI 16V with 160-hp replace the old 2.0 HDi 16V 140 HP and the 2.2 HDi 16V 173 HP engines.

The 1.6-litre turbocharged engine will pump out 155-horsepower and 240Nm of torque, where it then boasts an 8 percent increase in power, along with a 18.5 percent increase in fuel figures.

Citroen’s diesel engine will push out 160-horsepower with 340Nm of torque. This engine boasts a 3 percent increase in fuel economy, along with a 4 percent reduction in CO2 emissions.

The UK market will see the SX trim level renamed to the VTR, while the French automaker will then upgrade the Exclusive models to feature new Bluetooth and USB connectivity.
