Congratulations! VW-Porsche Is Now The World’s Largest Carmaker
Featured, Reports | Dean | November 10, 2009 at 11:19
Volkswagen-Porsche has succeed in taking over from Toyota as the world’s largest car manufacturer. The German automaker has created 4.4 million cars this year, and this tops the 4 million from Toyota.
The success came as VW has moved to the Chinese market where they have sold 128,000 cars since July, and this counts for nearly a quarter of their global sales for that month. China has boosted car demand, and sales tremendously for the company. The UK and German markets were only successful as they were running cash-for-clunkers schemes.
Although Volkswagen can be proud about what happened, it was said that Toyota only dropped behind as they halved their output during the first quarter of the year.

Impressive , but remember VW owns so many brands, Toyota is just 2 brands ( Toyota and Lexus ) and they still sold 4 million
Definitely TG. I don’t think this title will stay too long, as when Toyota is back in full swing they will probably take over once again.
Toyota customers are very loyal though, where VW has a bad name in some countries purely because of the type of people that drive the vehicle.
