It has been said that Kimi Raikkonen will not take part in the 2010 Formula One season. The Finnish driver has agreed to awarding his Ferrari seat to Fernando Alonso.
Kimi has denied all rumours revolving around a McLaren swap, and he could be keep options open for a rally contract.
“The only option for F1 next season was McLaren or nothing,” manager Steve Robertson said. “Kimi and McLaren were unable to reach an agreement, so he will not drive at F1 level, at least not next year.”
Kimi’s breach of contract now allows him to make more money in the 2010 season without having to even race.
Many have said that the best option for the driver would be to return in 2011 and join up with Red Bull Racing.
Expect to see Kimi in rally cars, and maybe even the Le Mans 24 Hours.
