Don’t you just love it when rumours come true? It has now been confirmed that Mercedes-Benz will partner with an Abu Dhabi investment company for a stake of 75 percent in Brawn GP.

The Brawn team will be renamed as Mercedes Grand Prix for the following season. Ross Brawn will remain the team principal, while himself and Nick Fry will keep a stake of 24.9 percent in the team. Mercedes-Benz and the Abu Dhabi company will hold a 45.1 and 30 percent investment in the team.

Mercedes-Benz will pull back their McLaren stake by the end of 2011, and they have commented by saying that Mercedes-Benz will still supply engines until 2015.

Team changes seem to be at interest as well. The Mercedes Grand Prix team is not at all interested in keeping Jenson Button at the wheel, instead, the team would prefer to create an all German team where drivers could include Nico Rosberg and Nick Heidfeld.

A change in team for Button would see him move to McLaren where he would race alongside Lewis Hamilton. Which essentially makes McLaren an all British team. This would also be the first time that two world champions drive for the same team since 1989.
