Are we in for another scandal? The recent Bugatti Veyron lake crash seems to be creating quite a bit of controversy as more details and news around the event has appeared online. The driver blamed his mishap on a ‘low flying pelican’ which caught his attention, before he then dropped his cell phone.

However, we have a video of the crash, along with a response from the driver. For all those wondering, the Pelican seems to be nonexistent.

According the Galveston Daily News, the following was said:

The man, who refused to give his name, was looking at real estate in Galveston.
About 3 p.m. a low-flying pelican distracted him as he traveled north on Interstate 45 just south of the hurricane levee near Omega Bay.
The man jerked the wheel, dropped his cell phone, and the car’s front tire left the frontage road and entered a muddy patch, which foiled his attempt to maneuver away from the lagoon.

The video recorded by a Facebook user says otherwise.

A watered down Bugatti Veyron, hey? This extravagant car is owned by Andy House — the Performance Auto Sales owner. The shop, ironically, specializes in repairing wrecked exotics.

House replied to the entire fiasco with the following,

I had dropped my phone, people don’t know what happened, the Arnold story was made up to by the wrecker driver. What it appeared to been was a reflection.

While House not only crashed his exotic into the lake, he is apparently also the owner of Eddie Griffin’s crashed Ferrari Enzo.

Are we in for another T-Shirt deal?
