Toyota has unveiled news about their up and coming Hilux pickup truck. The new car will boast a 2.5-litre turbocharged diesel engine with a 20 percent increase in power and torque for the 201 year.

The first model for the upgraded Hilux will be the 2.5D-4D four-cylinder diesel unit which uses a high-output turbocharger with new fuel-injectors for a total of 142-hp with 343Nm of torque. These changes allow for a 0-100km/h time of 12.5 seconds with CO2 emissions set at 219g/km.

Toyota’s 2.5D-4D will be connected to a five-speed manual box and the body style will be in three different versions, Single Cab, Extra Cab and Double Cab.

The more powerful range-topping 3.0D-4D will boast 171-hp and this model is completely unchanged for the 2010 year. Engine-wise that is.

These pick ups will be able to carry about 35 more than the previous models, while the inside will boast leather upholstery, satellite navigation and Bluetooth. Other extras include some guards for the under-carriage and parking-sensors.

Pricing starts at £15,145
