Audi has dropped a few lines which states that they will not try to be like BMW in an attempt to position itself as a fuel-efficient ‘green’ brand. Rupert Stadler, the CEO said that Audi will do their best to improve fuel figures on the vehicles, however they will not back the brand as a green brand.

“We will stick to our Vorsprung Durch Technik philosophy, not have a catch-all marketing claim such as Efficient Dynamics,” Stadler told AutoCar. “We’re convinced in Vorsprung Durch Technik, we’re a dynamic, sporty brand but not necessarily positioned as a green brand. That will come about as a matter of course.”

Audi will continue dropping the weight of cars, along with developing new technologies.
