Ferrari’s New Enzo To Use A TwinTurbo V8 Engine?

Miscellaneous, Rumours | Dean | December 21, 2009 at 13:19

Ferrari are planning to replace the Enzo with a new model. The new Enzo’s engine is currently under discussion where some are suggesting that it would have a V12 unit with a 6.0-litre displacement, while others are rumouring a new twin turbocharged V8 engine.

The two V12 and V8 engines are currently undergoing testing where the V12 peaks at 597kW, while the V8 unit pushes out 522kW. It was said that the Ferrari top-dogs are in favour of the turbocharged engine.

These rumours come from a ‘trusted’ Ferrari customer. The man was called up and asked about a Enzo successor, where he said that he would buy one. Ferrari continued to add that a turbocharged unit would not have any lag.

No lag? Would that mean that Ferrari’s idea of electric motors spooling the turbo actually gets the go-ahead?
