The New Toyota Prius Has Been Released In Japan
Hybrid/Electric, Minor Changes & Pricing, Miscellaneous | Dean | December 15, 2009 at 20:07Toyota has released their new Prius plug-in Hybrid onto the Japanese market. The new plug-in Hybrid will boast a lithium-ion battery which replaces the old nickel-metal hydride unit which Toyota opted to use for many years. The battery can be fully recharged in only 1.5 hours from a standard 230V power supply.
There will be emissions below 60g/km, and a new fuel-economy which will lure green-drivers. There will be a larger battery capacity and a new driving range of about 20km, which is about 10km more than the old model.
The Prius will be able to use the hybrid function when on the long-road.
The electric power mode can now get to a top speed of about 100km/h without the engine.
