BMW’s 1-Series Motorsport Model Is Still Just An Idea

There have been loads of rumours revolving around a Motorsport version of the BMW 1-Series, and it’s finally time that the M division boss, Kay Segler, comments on these.
“The thing you have to remember about BMW is that every model must make money, so the question is: could we make this happen with a 1-series M? Besides, what would you call it? You couldn’t call it an M1,” said an executive at the launch of the new 2011 BMW 5-Series.
At the moment, BMW is still thinking about the model. They are working out ways to make money from the car, and what engine to use.
