We first saw the Skoda Octavia facelift sedan and estate models at the Paris Auto Show in October, and both models feature a new nose and tail lights which brought them inline with the latest Czech vehicles such as the Fabia and Superb.

The 2009 Octavia’s cabin also features a few new styling elements from the large Superb, such as the four-spoke steering wheel, the climate controls and revised trim.

There is also a new 122-hp 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine and the VW Group’s new seven-speed DSG double-clutch gearbox.

Check out the video of the Octavia Facelift below: (more…)

2010-cadillac-srx-crossover_main.jpg

The 2010 Cadillac SRX Crossover has been made official, and this comes just a week before the Detroit Auto Show.

Cadillac’s SRX Crossover will feature two different direct-injection V6 engines, and it seems as if Cadillac do not really know what the purpose of the vehicle is, as they are saying that the SUV will be very fuel efficient, where it will get no better than 25mpg on the highway.

Cadillac are also bragging about “excellent performance”, on a car which weighs in at 4300 to 4600lbs, and if they are serious about the excellent performance the 3.0-litre 260-hp engine will not do the job.

The 2.8-litre V8 will feature 300-hp with 295lb-ft of torque and this puts it on a level similar to that of the Infiniti EX35, but the EX35 weighs around 1,000 pounds less.

The engines will be connected to a six-speed automatic transmission with an ‘eco-mode’ setting, and when enabled it will shift for maximum fuel economy. (more…)
